Yogavaas Mental Health Programs

Mental health is the key to Holistic health. Hence we have  included Mental well-being here. Foremost focus of Yogavaas team is to guide health seekers  towards holistic health. Subsequent steps to achieve the same involves creating a fit body. And fit body certainly needs a healthy mind. The most simple and obvious reason is a healthy body resides only and only in a healthy mind . And when we look at Yoga definition in our old scriptures , the concept of mental well being is extremely important for a yoga practitioner.

Let’s look at few Yoga definitions for conceptual clarity of the same.

Maharishi Patanjali, in the Yoga Sutras defines yoga as: “Yogah chitta vritti nirodhaḥ “ which means restraining the modulations of the mind is Yoga. Our Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita (2.50) elaborates, “yogah karmasu kaushalam”, meaning “Yoga is a skill in action”. Yoga is the skill to live life, manage the mind and deal with the emotions. Our contemporary Yog guru, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar says, “Yoga is not just exercise and asanas. It is the emotional integration and spiritual elevation with a touch of the mystic element, which gives you a glimpse of something beyond all imagination.” Hence we can see Yoga definition from immemorial times includes mental health. Our current mentioned services here are a structured way to take care of the same .

The below data will also help you to understand why mental well being services should be looked into from a professional manner. According to the World Mental Health survey, the lifetime prevalence of anxiety disorders varies between 3-19% across nations. India’s National Mental Health Survey 2016 evaluated the prevalence and pattern of public health priority mental disorders for mental health care policy and implementation. The treatment gap for anxiety disorders was 82.9% overall.

At Yogavaas our approach to look into mental well-being services is yogic perspective as well as psychological perspective.  Currently, under our programs we  are providing psychotherapy for stress management.
